Why Is My Website Not Showing Up on Google?
17 September 2026 2 min read
When your site is missing from Google, one of six things is happening: Google has not found it, a technical block is in the way, the pages are flagged noindex, the content is too thin to index, the domain is too new, or your pages are competing with each other. Check them in that order, cheapest fixes first.
The six checks in order
- Is the site in Search Console at all, and is the sitemap submitted?
- Does robots.txt accidentally block crawling? Check with the Sitemap and Robots Checker.
- Do pages carry noindex tags? The On-Page SEO Checker reports this instantly.
- Is there real content to index, or thin placeholder pages?
- Is the domain weeks old with no links? That is normal, not broken.
- Do five pages target the same keyword? Google picks one, or none.
